Emma – Rebecca Page Pattern Test

I don’t know if you have heard yet, but Mummykins and Me has recently rebranded as Rebecca Page. During this transitional time, the pattern company has come out with the Emma. This is a top, Tunic or multi length dress that comes in women’s, girl’s, Mommy and me, or doll sizes.

I have been looking for some different style tops and tunics to add to my summer arsenal. I was excited to test the Emma in a top length. The high neck top has tons of drape and hides many different “trouble areas.”  Although I am past most of these stages, this pattern can work for pregnancy, breastfeeding, and post baby bellies! I can’t really count mine as a post baby belly since my littlest will be turning two soon!

Most of my trips to Walmart include a quick browse through the fabric section looking for any new value fabric. I stumbled across a beautiful vintage looking floral a couple of weeks ago and grabbed a couple of yards since it was only $2.00 a yard! Well, it turns out that the fabric was perfect for this pattern. The Emma is a vintage look to me anyway so the fabric worked well with the style.

The back has a small key hole in order to make getting into the top (or dress easily).  Although it is a functional feature, it makes for a lovely design feature.

I already have a vertical stripe boho print from Sincerely Rylee lined up for my next version, and I can’t wait for some sewing time this weekend.   Overall the pattern and tutorial was easy to follow, and this was a great intro pattern for me to Rebecca Page.  I should have taken a picture of the inside seams because even the internal finish was polished.

Don’t forget to catch the Emma in one or all of the size options while its on sale!  Be sure to check out the new website for Rebecca Page while you are at it!

Until next time….sewing and sipping,

Stacey
